I don't even know what to do - I had ordered a pizza because there was a "special". Ordered at 8:33 (which was much later than I would have but I was being nice and waited until the rainstorm had passed). Confirmation says delivery 30-40 minutes (this place is literally walking distance....) - After nearly an hour I called, get passed around - no resolve. Then the delivery person calls but English isn't his native language so there is difficulty understand, he asks if I want to cancel and I say yes. I call the store, speak to the Manager, explain, he says he'll cancel. Probably 10 mins. later driver calls and says he's at my door!! I open door, and he is (this is about 1 hr. 15 mins. by this point). I feel bad for him, pay him. Call the Manager who says don't pay him, I say I already did but pizza is at best lukewarm and it's too late - he says he'll credit me (and states base rate) - they charge a delivery plus I always tip. Manager was rushing so I don't even believe the credit part.
Just to break up long paragraph - I google complaint page - type out the whole thing, enter and then NOTHING. Not sure if it even went anywhere...
I am just so upset - serious budget issues (husband passed recently), I haven't been eating, thought I would "treat" myself as this would be a good 3-4 meals..........
At this point I would have made the driver wait at the door while I called the store, stating that the order had already been canceled due to excessive delivery time, and yet the pizza was at the door. I would then have demanded that he tell the driver to either leave the pizza with no payment expected, or just leave altogether and they could eat the cost of a wasted pizza either way.

I'm disabled - walking distance is relative - it's a 15 min. or so walk, it was after dark and we've had rain for days on end.
The real store manager called me today and said there had been issues w/the managers.... I took the pizza because I felt bad for the delivery guy - a non-native and older and he felt so bad (apparently he was new).
It is on file that I have a free pizza coming - when I feel like another, I'll pick it up there.
This must just be a Papa Johns thing. We've had similar experiences twice with our local P.J. Pizza Hut opened down the street so we use them exclusively.
Came home from my son's baseball game one night around 6:30. Ordered a pizza from P.J. We were told 45 min - 1 hr. At 7:45 (15 min late) I called and they said the guy was on the way. Then at 8:15 we said to heck with it. I called back and spoke with the manager and told her we were driving into town to grab something and to cancel. At 9:30....... we get a knock on the door. Papa Johns was trying to deliver. I told them we had cancelled over 1 hr 15 minutes prior. The driver said "Oh well I couldn't find your number on your house so I had to drive around for a while to find it. (It's on a stone pillar built into the side of the house AND both sides of the mailbox) I called the manager and she said it was on the house. Took it inside and it felt like it had been pulled from a fridge.
The OP has suffered what is considered one of the worst losses in one's life, the loss of a spouse. It is perfectly understandable and completely normal not to be thinking clearly or to completely understand what your doing for quite awhile.
My point here isn't really with the pizza it's with the quick remarks about ""why didn't you do this? ""
or "" Why do you do that? "" . I'm not coming down on anyone, just attempt to understand the frame of mind this person was in at the time.
