That's at least half of what most posters are spending. What is included in that $100 a week?

just food items, nothing household. I dont coupon. Typically i buy a lot of fruits/veggies. I stay away from a bunch of boxed/canned items and I dont buy a lot of meats. I also shop at Aldi, Save A Lot and Clearance at Kroger.

I am single and take $100 out the first of every month to see how far I can stretch it. So far I haven't been able to do it. I usually try to keep it under $200 for the month.
I shop at 3 basic stores.
Aldi
Save a Lot
Shop n Save

Aldi is my biggest save for basics such as milk, eggs, cheese, etc.
I also have switched over to many "no name" brand products at all the stores I shop at.

Found ketchup for .79 at Save a Lot, Salad dressing 1.29 aldi, buy iceberg lettuce by the head and not the bagged salad mix, switched from Hellmann's to "Essentials Everyday" mayo which is the equivalent to better than Hellmann's.

I think my off brand shopping has saved me the most. I've discovered I can get the "no name" cheaper than "name brands" using coupons and sales.

I am filthy poor and if it weren't for my family I'd be living on the street, so trimming down my food budget was not a choice for me, but a necessary evil.

Great Thread!
