Telemarketers getting out of control

If you pick up the phone, or if your answering machine picks up, its recorded as an anwsered phone and becomes a desirable phone number for these monsters to sell to another telemarking company.

Best way to stay off the lists (because it doesn't seem the DNC lists are very effiective) is not to pick up ever and let the caller end the connect.

Just got ANOTHER late call.

It's almost 9pm here on the east coast and we just got a call. The caller ID said "CLEANING SERVICE". At least this one is being honest!

You just confirmed your number as a viable number now they will start having "live" telemarketers call you at the times you called them back.

^^^Exactly.

If you should get calls from businesses in the USA that you have not done business with, just tell them they are in violation of the DNC rules and can be fined $10,000 per call they make. If they are out of the USA calls and or robo-calls just hang up or punch the number 9 12 times then hang up. It usually works.

Telemarketers are allowed to call between 8 AM and 9 PM.
