If a person has been using and paying for AOL on a credit card that has been discontinued, can AOL bill the person retroactively months from now? Is it required to officially let them know that you no longer wish to pay and is a registered letter the way to do this or can one use AOL without paying and worrying about receiving a bill?

I should think they'd send an email.....saying "oops............your card's not working".........please enter a new one.

If no response, then I'd think you no longer have a full aol account...........just the free web version.

AOL is free using Broadband. One only pays if they require a dial up acct.

I haven't paid for aol for many years. They offered their service for free 5+ years ago. I'm not sure what you are getting billed for.
