Chipotle used to be a susidiary of McDonald's and McDonald's at one time held a majority of the voting power of Chipotle's stock. People compare the contrast in free range this and the other marketing points of Chipotle and wonder why McDonald's does not do this.
I was aware that Mc Donalds Corp. at one time owned Chipotle. I agree with you concerning why people have questioned why Chipotle's food sourcing equals arguably a fresher and healthier end product but what still makes no sense is how the media simply compares Mc Donalds, a hamburger oriented establishment focused on value pricing verses Chipotle a Mexican restaurant that is perceived to be upmarket.
I love McDonald's!! I eat a lot of their breakfast items, and every March I enjoy a few Shamrock Shakes from there. Don't know about their regular coffee but I like their lattes.
Like their fish sandwiches, though they've gotten small, and I liked their burgers... or did, anyway. A couple of weeks ago I had a burger that I think was one of their newer, healthier ones, and I did NOT like the taste.
Been disappointed in their fries the last several times, too. Wish they'd go back to frying them in whatever they used in the past.
We will only stop at McDs when we just want a quick breakfast. The only thing that I like are their Egg McMuffins. Can't recall the last time I was forced to eat there for lunch or even worse, dinner. Every time I ate there, I just felt like I was eating empty calories. Never felt full and then it sat like a rock in my stomach. I don't know what feeling was stronger-still being hungry or being miserable from the heartburn and indigestion that I would get from it.
Lately when we want our quick breakfast, we have been going to Dunkin' Donuts and get their version of an Egg McMuffin.
My youngest step-daughter works for McDs. I hate the fact that she works full time but doesn't make a livable wage.
I can't. My last McDonald's meal was in 1991. I had a normal fillet O Fish, chips and a few chicken nuggets. I felt queasy afterwards. I don't know why. Maybe it was the food. Maybe it was just me.
I had a science teacher at school who said that as an experiment he hung a McDonald's bun on a wall. Six months later it had not gone mouldy. Six months of preservatives? Ick.
On the other hand, maybe Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane was right when she sang
Quote:
I don't care if there's chemicals in it
As long as my lettuce is crisp
Preservatives might be preserving you all
I think that's something you might've...
Oh, I think you might've missed it
