Age 30, female, athletic

Last year - only gift given from her parents (us) and brother also was a GoPro.

She loved, loved it.

Now what? Any great novel gift ideas? After this huge success, I don't know what to get her.

LockLaces! Best deal is 3 for $20 on their website, look around the web for a discount code (cheaper than Amazon). But you'd still need to give her something else too. CB has a good idea.

More and more I talk to people who are just giving people money for Christmas. Cash. In an envelope. That's it.

Where's the fun in that? I mean, unless your a child and $10.00 seems like a big deal. Where's the thoughtfulness, the creativity, the imagination in going by the bank and getting a bunch of $50 and $100 to give to others, and they do the same for you? What's the point? At least a gift card takes about, oh, maybe two minutes of thought about the person receiving the gift. Have we really gotten that lazy?

I don't think it is lazy, I think it is because everyone has everything they want and need, so it is much more difficult to buy someone something unique, useful, fun or frivolous.

This younger generation is a mobile one, they don't want the knick-knacks their parents and other elders collected or displayed. They also have the money to buy the "now" technological or health/sports related items that are all the rage and are not only very price, but also available in good, better, best, and "includes everything including the kitchen sink" options. "One size fits all" is no longer an option, people know what they want in their "toys".

So to me, money and gift cards are perfect for those who are hard to buy for, unless you get a Christmas registry list like for weddings or baby and bridal showers. This, IMO is tackier than giving cash or a gift card.
