This thread makes me laugh. I always pictured whole food shoppers as these granola eating, tree hugging, environmental friendly, recycle everything, trucks are bad, paying 2 dollars for an organic tomato , biking to work in rain and snow.....kind of people. lol.
I know this is not true but for some reason this picture comes in mind.
If they're that rich, spending an extra $500 on groceries won't make a dent in their budget. They don't care.
I could easily afford to shop there if I wanted to, but it just goes against my frugal nature to spend more for something when I could get it for less some where else. It's that mentality that made it possible to retire comfortably at 58. Wasting money has never been my forte. I'm more of a money hoarder. Food is just that... food. Fancy supermarkets don't impress me, and you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
South Carolina has very few, according to the website. 65 miles away is the closest one for me even. It must be more of a health food customer base. Too far away for me to even go rubber necking it

As someone I respected said, it is not what you make, it is what you spend. I live a pretty nice lifestyle on very little, including a house in Canada, a sailboat and condo in Florida, and NO trips to Whole Foods after my first time there. If I told you my total monthly expenses, most here would tell me I am lying.
Welp, guess I'm not cool enough to shop at Whole Foods. That's alright, I'm perfectly fine getting my groceries at Walmart and not getting hosed in the process.

Frugal is good.
Well now, a condo AND a boat! How nice for you.
I find it hilarious that some people on this thread are portraying WF shoppers as being stuck-up and status conscious, and yet the counterargument includes dropping ownership of second homes and watercraft into the discussion.

Not a issue in my hood.
