I am an interior designer, so shopping for things like this is a lot of what I do, so I can make a really informed statement here. I see name brands like Hooker Furniture at our Home Goods, at far below retail, as well as other brands I recognize and use.
If my client is on a limited budget, I always take them there to shop. I shop there for myself, as well!
I have done interior designing in the past, and recognize a very good bargain, when i find one, and yes they have some amazing finds, not only unique accents, but some of their quality of furniture, is really a pretty good savings, they also carry some name brands, depending on what part of the Country you live in, or where the store is located. I think they are better then their counterparts, just like their stuff better. You have to sort of look thru the stuff, and know what your looking for, unless you are me, i always find something unique there.

^^Looks like about 40 miles to the closest one in Gilroy, next would be San Jose.
