I go back many decades when Sears had a very good reputation...then they went to selling imported products that were made with poor quality material/parts etc.
Over 20 yrs ago saw a flyer in a newspaper that showed scratch off coupons giving anywhere from 10% and higher for a kitchen appliance etc. Out of curiosity I scratched off all of the coupons and found 11 were 10% and one was 15%.......nothing higher at all so no big savings to the purchaser.
Now these flyers are mass produced/printed so all had to be the same.
Being originally from Canada during WW11 they were called "Simpsons/Sears" or "Sears/Simpson" those days.....not sure about today. (been a while for me)
The only thing I ever used to buy at Sears was Craftsman tools. The last set I bought turns out to have been made in China. So, I'm done buying at Sears. If I want tools made in China, there are plenty of places I can get them cheaper, and with the same lifetime warranty. Sears is a 20th century anachronism struggling to find its place in a 21st century economy. That struggle won't last much longer.
I shopped Sears way back in 50's and 60's then sorta gave up on them. Now I have found their tool and outdoor departments are the best in town. What goes around comes around I guess.
Those tools are now made in China. I didn't think I had to read the label, but I should have. All my older Craftsman tools were made in the USA. The socket set I bought last year was made in China. Sears won't be seeing any more of me.
I thought you were always supposed to do an alignment after changing the suspension system. With new struts, anyway.
Replacing shock absorbers has no effect on alignment. And as the poster stated, it never went on the alignment rack and his tires had no irregular wear. They tried to scam him and he didn't buy it.
I shop there, but only occasionally, for household things like linens, bedding, kitchen stuff... there are good deals there, the quality is good on those items at least.
The fashion stuff, ugh. And the stores are looking pretty drab. It is sad, they went quite downhill for some combination of reasons.
I bought a couple of Kenmore-branded Panasonic canister vacuum cleaners at Sears 6 or 7 years ago. I've purchased vacuum cleaner bags there a couple of times when I ran out and couldn't wait to buy them on the internet.
I bought my lawnmower at a Sears Outlet 6 years ago. They didn't have the cheapest Craftsman push mower that was advertised on their web site so they gave me a much better "Brute" branded one for that very low price.
The internet has largely made Sears obsolete for me.
I answered Yes only because I go in periodically to shop the clearance clothes and shoes.
However, Sears is hands down the most annoying store at the checkout. Huge push to sign up for the rewards card, the credit card, want your email, phone no. etc. And when you decline they are often borderline rude.

Maybe it was that particular store. Did you try complaining to their customer support center?
I got the rewards card because it gave me $15 off my pair of sandals -- so, free. Plus $10 off the next visit. My sales lady was very nice and I doubt she would have given me a hard time if I said "no".
