- it was delivered to the wrong address, and that person kept the package.

- someone took the package out of the mailbox before anyone got home and was able to check the mail.
Call your post office and have them track that package.

This happened to me a few weeks back..the online tracking said it was delivered to my door (it wasn't, it was in the parcel box but the key was left for another resident) I had my package two days later and got a follow up call making sure I did get it. From what I was told, the package was picked up by the other resident and the carrier had to go to their door to retrieve it...thankfully it wasn't opened, but I think they were planning on keeping it, thinking it was a 'free $150 gift.'

Thieves could care less about cameras. Our local news stations this past Christmas season were full of reports of thefts of packages off of people's porches, and included the recorded video of the perps and the vehicles they were driving. Just pull a hoodie over your head, or don't look up. Heck, some did look around but were mostly unrecognizable anyway with the poor recordings some of these cameras produce. And in every single story, police asked for the public's help in catching these thieves. I haven't heard of any who were caught.

Same as when someone comes to the door to remove anything.

Smile

: )
Doesn't help if the perp is driving a stolen vehicle.

Had a sailor in the late 80's do that, steal Christmas lawn decorations. I believe it was the only time I went to the Captain to have him sign a search warrant. I don't recall what the sailor got in punishment but the Captain was in one of his very rare VERY ANGRY moods at Captain's Mast.

As to the lawn ornaments, they were returned to the owners.

Maybe they are drunk at the time. Remember this incident?
Sword thief at Colo. Renaissance fair is tackled by woman - NY Daily News

Why else would someone do something like that unless they are drunk?
Because they are a thief and/or an addict. They will sell the items for money to support whatever socially irresponsible habit they have.

Don't get too confident. Low-lifes go into nicer/high end neighborhoods too. People don't just have packages delivered at holiday time.

I have been a guardian/conservator for my sister and twice her clothing and underwear are, "missing" they say. The laundry department is always the blame. After all the years of people being in nursing homes, we all know theft happens. My family members have worked for nursing homes for years and have reported theft. There has to be a better monitoring system of employees when the leave work. A few retail stores have employees carry a clear bag made for all employees. If they aren't guilty of theft then they would they be mad;when the security guy has to do a quick search like they do at a concert. This is ignored by the nursing home because their reputation is more important than a new coat, diamond wedding ring or a favorite blanket being stolen. If the military can do thousands of loads of laundry, why can't a nursing home come up with a more manageable system. I say the small claims court should be involved and the homes will start to keep a better inventory on all residents belongings.
