Is it just me or do any of you also have a problem with this? I was recently in a particular very large, department store and came across a brand of clothing called American Living. American Living, I have recently learned is the brain child of Ralph Lauren's Son David. Now here wherein lays the problem, not one of the items I found under the "American Living" brand name was made in the USA. Everything I looked at was made in China! If you are going to name a product line something like "American Living" at least have the decency to manufacture it in the United States!!! Just my 2 cents...

Maybe it's cheaper to mass manufacturer in China. Now a days I here if it's made in China it's good whereas years ago made in china meant cheap quality.

This past Christmas, I was shopping at Kohls. This gentleman was looking for something for his wife that WASN'T made in China or any other country other than good ole USA... he walked out empty handed. How incredibly sad was that? This country is so hell bent on illegal immigrants but we'll outsource everything. It drives me CRAZY!!!!! I mean, don't let Mexicans in but we'll let them make our t-shirts and tennis shoes over there.

The truth is Mexico is not cheap enuf. The companies will always find the cheapest country that gives them the best deal at the time.

I am pretty sure that even $500.00 Coach bags are made in China.

American Living from China sounds about right.

Heck everything comes from there. They own all the debt. We've been living off of China for years.

If people weren't committed to saving every penny they could, there wouldn't be such an issue.

Ugh, I don't like advertising much anyway, but misleading advertising really makes me sick. But we live in a superficial marketing world. Look at our campaigning politicians--appearance is all, and much is made of whether or not someone wears a flag pin on his lapel.
Below is a photo of an American Living shirt. Check out the eagle grasping the American flag. If you look carefully, you can see the "Made in China," which is right below the size.

We've been shopping ourselves into a bit of a globalization predicament.
I am all for free trade, but it seems a bit sad to tout Americana that is not American-produced.
This teaser from the WalMart movie, The High Cost of Low Price, is something to think about, the comments below it are interesting as well.

And I'm pretty sure you're right. Seems nothing is sacred anymore.
