I've been buying a few minor things online(a couple of tops, groceries, a toy) lately. It seems that every time I do, I get an email asking me to take a survey or post a review. This even happened when I went to my regular dentist and saw a new doctor. Even though I ignore them, it still irks me. Why in heaven's name would I spend my time telling them how great the service/product was for a minor purchase? Or even a major one?
Lots of times it's before I even receive the product. "How was the ordering process"? "Describe the ease in which you used our website". And if I ignore it, they send another email a few days later.
I know they are trying to get good reviews posted to boost their ratings, but seriously? I can walk into any local store, buy an item and walk out. No review necessary.

Whether yo do the surveys or not isn’t a big deal to them, they do it because with automation it’s cheap advertising, except when the reviews are bad. Everyone uses Yelp, Trip Advisor and other review sites now before going anywhere new, those reviews can make or break a business.
I always just say no to surveys.
Along the same lines....today I ventured out to the local outlet mall. I went into a store which had what I was looking for, but the 20 something sales girl was so irritating, I almost left without buying my item.
She asked if she could help me, and I said I was browsing. Fine and dandy. But then she would not leave me alone. She wanted to know my name, and if she could help me decide on something. At that point I wanted to tell her to back off and leave me alone, but I remained polite. I made my purchase, and she wanted to know my phone number and my email, which I refused to give her.
I will definitely never go into that store again, or any one where i have to become bosom buddies with the salespeople. No wonder people buy online.
I'm with you. And Amazon now asks me to check my email while I am on the phone with them. I'm like right now? gah.
