Amazon.com's search function seems very limited. It doesn't offer the ability to filter out products with only a few reviews (at least they added sorting by the number of reviews). There is no sorting system that computes a score based on both the number of reviews and their ratings. Considering more user-specific factors would be better still. There are some websites that offer enhanced search: jeviz.com, jungle-search.com, fivestar.io but it's quite surprising to me that Amazon with all of its resources doesn't do better. Has anybody used these sites with positive results? I'm assuming they are earning affiliate fees.

Another small issue with Amazon's user interface is that the page links on page 5 (as an example) look like this:
Previous Page 1 ... 4 5 6 ... 87 Next Page

You cannot jump to page 2, 3, or 7 but this ability should exist.

You can jump to a different page by changing page number in the url link, but it's not very convenient, and some people might not know how.

I like the links you posted. Bookmarked!

Also check www.fakespot.com whenever searching for something on Amazon to see if the reviews are legit or not.

Right, that's what I've been doing. When sorting Kindle books by price, it's really needed or you'll never get through a huge number of ebooks with $0.99 prices.

As a seller on AZ, the search is weighted toward better selling products. For example, if I was looking for a book called "My Great Escape", it would give me titles of "The Great Escape" before the title I was looking for. The way to get around this with books is to put in the title and the author.

I often review products on Amazon.com.

To me, the biggest improvement would be if they eliminated all the reviews made by people who did not actually buy the product from Amazon. That would eliminate many, if not most, fake reviews. Some of my reviews would disappear, but I would prefer that over reading reviews that are written by people involved in owning or selling a product...which does me no good as a consumer.

Just FYI, as this is off topic for this thread: I would not necessary agree with that. People are writing reviews about a product, not the experience buying it from Amazon.
If you bought a product identical to one that is sold by Amazon or associates, you should be able to write a review about that product.

Fake/positive reviews could be, and actually often are, written by people who bought products at Amazon. They have a different agenda, though - they might get promotions and discounts for writing only positive reviews. Some are paid reviews writers.
While Amazon updated their policy last year and you don't see so many fake reviews anymore, some older ones still might be there raising the total numbers of reviews for a popular product. Also some vendors know how to go around that policy.

You know I have no problem searching on Amazon. But I do agree that they have not improved their search capabilites in a long tme.

I often run two or three searches on one product. I do qualify by brand if there are too many choices. I also agree that wading through Kindle deals is a major pain.

I think the OP should write Amazon with suggestions for improving searching.

I’d like them to condense info about a book to one page, so I would not have to scroll down for ISBN and other publisher’s info.

What I would like is to find products by country where it's made.
Also many product description says "imported" but they will not say where from.
There is very limited cross reference/filters.
