Well, nearly all of the magazines survive in online form, as do nearly all newspapers. If printed versions become rare or on-demand, it will be a loss but these things do evolve.

That would be a shame. It's easier to have the paper in hand when reading on public transit than carrying around an electronic device when you have to worry about the battery running out. Maybe cut the staff to accommodate fewer subscribers but hopefully the newspaper won't become extinct.

I notice a lot of papers getting narrower, as well as fewer pages.

I hope not. I have subscribed to two newspapers a day for over fifty years & probably 4 magazines. I
love curling up in my chair w/ my cup of tea and reading the news.
