Hello All,
I have a professional racing bike that belonged to my late husband and I've done a bit or research on it so it's worth something.

Any suggestions on the best (lol meaning easiest) way to sell it?? ebay I would have to deal with shipping the thing.

It's a vintage (late 1980's) Eddy Merckx SLR bike.

Thanks all

You can try LetGo, or I see commercials for a new one, Mercari. I personally don't like LetGo's search engine and that gave me a bad taste for the app (I wanted a pedal boat, and got 1,000 pages of everything from tricycles to fishing boats, anything and everything that had either "pedal" OR "boat" anywhere in the title or description, with no way to narrow it. I gave up after looking through 17 pages of many, many pages, in which only one item was a pedal boat. I have smaller things to sell and was thinking of trying Mercari.

The drawback is you have strangers coming to buy it. Some towns have "safe spaces" where you can meet sellers. One town in my area actually has a space in the police station where you can do it. Just make sure it's a public area.

You might also want to try looking at some local Meetup groups, forums or Facebook bike groups, and see if they have a for sale section, or even call a local bike shop for suggestions. There used to be stores called Play it Again Sam that sold used sporting goods, not sure if they're still around.
