Just an update, to illustrate how absurd shipping has become......

As I mentioned earlier on, the order we initial placed on June 19th, which was for 6 casual shirts, and supposedly was for my birthday, several days later, was split into 2 orders, as apparently some of the merchandise was leaving the warehouse in PA, while the remainder was being shipped from an L&T store in Syracuse, NY.

The warehouse is located in the Wilkes Barre, PA area, which is a couple hundred miles due south of the Rochester, NY area, where I live. FedEX handled the shipping, and I know they have a hub in Syracuse, so you would think that they would route the package as closely as possible, to go directly there. I81 passes through Wilkes Barre, and eventually runs directly through Syracuse, making a direct link. But NOPE......

The package went directly east, landing in a hub in Keasby, NJ. From there, it went west, to another hub in Pittsburg, PA. Then it was handed off to the USPS, which routed it through Buffalo, then on to Rochester.

The second part of the order was handled in an even more insane manner. First of all, the second package languished at the L&T store in Syracuse for 4 days, before it was picked up. Then it gets REALLY stupid.... Instead of travelling 75 miles directly west, to the Rochester hub, they send it on a several day, 330 mile trip, ending in Grove City, OH (outside of Columbus). It sits there for 2-3 days, then it goes to Pittsburg, PA, before finally being turned over to the USPS, who then eventually get it to me, 2 days ago.

12 days, to travel 75 miles. And they wonder why shipping rates are so expensive, many times, and why people get frustrated with the questionable service....

In this day and age we can’t get more people working remotely from home in customer service jobs?

Most companies don’t spend more just to make our experience more pleasant. When I complained to local Home Depot manager that our “Available for pickup today” curbside order still wasn’t picked 8 days later, he said they are very far behind on orders and corporate will not let them hire more workers. And that’s a chain that is doing very well during this pandemic. Take a store like Lord and Taylor that is probably losing money like water Through a colander, they are not likely to hire more people.

Understand your point, but with respect to L&T, they don't need to hire more, they just need to retain some of what they have/had.
