It's not "rubbing elbows" it's the store(s) there are two near me - not clean IMO, no helpful employees, etc.

I don't remember which store, but last week I saw a package of pumpkin spice ramen in the clearance section. I HAD to grab it, just because it made me laugh out loud.

Clarissa Dickson Wright and Jennifer Paterson, of the late great British cookery show "Two Fat Ladies", had a wonderful exchange regarding pumpkins (as Jennifer was making a savory pumpkin soup):

Clarissa: You have to be very careful with pumpkins. Never let an American near a pumpkin is what I say.

Jennifer: No, they’re horrible, [the] things they do! That pumpkin pie, which they all seem to adore! It’s sort of sludge covered in cinnamon.

Clarissa: And sweet.

Jennifer. And pappy. Yuck!

I'm as American as they come but count me in as one of about six people in the country who hate pumpkin pie - for the reasons they mentioned above.

I've got to have Pfeffernusse (German gingerbread cookies with a hard sugar glaze) or it just isn't Christmas. Every time I have some I'm five years old in my Nana's kitchen.
