I frequently buy 12, to 24 packs of Coke and Dr Pepper. The last few batches have been sticky meaning the cans have a sticky brown substance on them.
Almost syrupy it's disgusting. I'm guessing its from the sodas leaking or not packaged properly? Either way, I am planning on reaching out to Coke etc to let them know its unacceptable.
The Sodas were mostly purchased from Wally but have had the issue with Amazon as well.
A few cans likely exploded in the middle of a palletized stack of packaged drinks. It gets really hot in those warehouses and the ones in the middle not only get the hottest, they do the most damage because they spray their contents all through the pallet/stack, then dribble the rest out as they travel on trucks.
And yes, washing them off might seem to be a valid solution, or just soak them in a bucket of water.

That's what I ended up doing washing them off. But at $8 for a 12-pack and $12 for a 24-pack, they should have some better quality control.
It's like buying a brand new car after a rainy day getting it dirty, not the mfg fault. The guy in the warehouse distribution center juggling the pallets of product over the bouncy pavement, talk to him.
Look, a can sprung a leak in a warehouse somewhere. Might have been on a truck. Might have been in the grocery store back area.
rinse it off with water and be done.
Talk about making a stink about nothing!
When I worked in a glass bottle factory breakage during shipping to the customers, shipping empty to them and then they factored it in when shipped out filled.

Then that's who you should be reaching out to, not Coca Cola. They are the ones that handle the sodas to the shoppers.
