Are any NOT made in China? We used to have Weber grills and they were great. I have been doing reading and a few people have told me that Weber is now made in China and the quality is not what it used to be. We have not had a grill recently because we have been in an apartment the past few years. Now that we moved into our condo we are going to buy a grill again.
Any decent grills still made in the USA? Are Webers made in China now?
All new Weber models are made in China now. However, ACE hardware still carries older model Webers that were made in the USA. I just bought an older American made model from there a few weeks ago. You can also find them online. Do a google search for the Weber Genesis silver models. That same grill is now called the Spirit model but that is the one made in China. Good luck finding them but they are still out there. I love my new Weber grill and use it a few times a week.

You have your info wrong, only the new SPIRIT models are made in China but the rest of the Weber models are produced in the USA. I love my Weber, it's a Summit model with all the bells and whistles. I wouldn't trade it for any other grill, I use it just about everyday and still works like when I bought it.

OK-thanks. I was hoping to find a store that had last year's Silver. Well unfortunately I have a small deck and the size of the Old Silver(USA made) now called Spirit(China made) is all I can fit on mt deck. Every other Weber that I have found made in USA is way too big.
Since they already moved the production of the Spirit to China I am sure it is just a matter of time before they move them all over there.
Does anyone know a similar size grill to the Weber Silver/Spirit that is made in USA or Canada?
I'm a sales specialist who sells grills at Lowe's Home Improvement. Ironically about two weeks ago a customer asked me what grills we carried that did NOT come from China. I took them down our grill aisle and read the labels on boxes of each company that we had affiliations with:
BBQ Grillware
Char-Broil
Jenn-Air
Perfect Flame
Weber (Spirit Models)
Each and every box we had in stock said "Made in China." The customer said "thank you for your time" and promptly left. Is anyone really surprised? Perhaps it comes with the territory of being only 21 and never seeing the United States as a manufacturing powerhouse, but I no longer look for a "Made in the U.S.A." label because I can never seem to locate one on anything I wish to purchase. Ironically though I'm considering purchasing a new Asian vehicle that is assembled at a plant in the Midwest.
I was hoping this thread had a bit more info as this is a great question.
Nicolem- have you considered calling weber at least to clarify or pin down any American Made models and where to purchase them? I actually think the Weber charcoal models are still manufactured here. Its the gas grills that are few and far between. I am also in the market for a grill and will be considering the exact same thing when I start looking.
ScranBarre--Thanks for the info. No offense but you saved me a trip to Lowes.
