Who doesn't do this with todays 4.00 a gallon gas? Always check online or (gasp) call first.

Home Depot is still recovering from the GE Exec that thought he knew everything. Turns out he didn't understand the retail business. A lot of huge flame-outs by the Jack Welch offspring, serious culture of arrogance amongst the management from there.

Lowes is vastly superior in all of my experiences.

I had the most delightful time at HD yesterday.
Even though they were sort of shorthanded, I got more personal attention and assistance than a customer should expect.
I maintain that regardless of the business, the personality and work ethic of each individual employee is what makes the difference.
We usually get decent service wherever we go....always a few exceptions....but maybe a lot of it has to do with how the customer behaves.
Most often you get what you give.

AMEN! I love when people complain about the crappy service they get, but then you see them in action and they don't even acknowelge a store clerk, smile or say thank you.

Lowe's is nicer, but Home Depot is much cheaper on the products they have.

I find that not to be true, that each one, is cheaper on some products that they both carry. They both have good points and some bad. I find so much of the time that Home Depot is out of items, while lowes seems to order more of the item needed. Depends on what your looking for at the time, and if it is in stock, and at the time which store is cheaper.

Homne depot is more a warehouse and generally their displays are pretty jumbled. Lowes is much neater and it seems their employeees are happier working there from what I have experienced. But I still go to HD for somethings they carry that lowes doesn't. They are what they are to me;HD a warehouse type and lowes a hme center type.

I worked at HD as a manager for 2 years, and at our store water dispensers were seasonal. We didn't carry them in Winter, but did in the spring/summer. Once they sold out, we waited until the next year.

Every HD is different though, and carries different items.

So, let me get this straight. You needed a product and went to one Home Depot. They didnt have it so you proceeded to go to two more Home Depot stores.

Did you not think to ask someone that worked there or check online to see which stores had it. Maybe even do the logical thing and call around to see who carries what you need.

It doesnt sound like it is Home Depot that sucks but rather that your skills as a consumer are poor.
