LOL. westhou, you're in Texas. Strip malls are to Texas as gambling is to Nevada. So maybe, from your point of view, it would seem hard for a person to never see a strip mall, but in reality it's believable.
Obviously because you have to walk too much. I would rather park at the door of the store I am headed for. It's bad enough that in a big box you have to walk for miles to get from one end of the store to the other. Of course the item you want, which they may or may not have, would be located in the department furtherest from the entrance, if they had it. No matter where you go shopping sucks. Google and a credit card is the only thing that makes sense.

strip mall?? i thought we were discussing a regular indoor mall. the reason i found it to be unbelievable is because i would think that at least 99% of the population has seen a mall either by driving by one or at least on tv.
I don't really mind the mall that much. The only thing I don't like is that we have one ghetto indoor mall and one "nice" indoor mall and the nice mall gets super duper crowded whenever it's a convenient time to shop.
What don't I like about malls? Well it all depends on the mall itself. The mall here in town sucks, doesn't have the stores I like, so I don't go, but I love going to the Gallerias in Houston and Dallas, and NorthPark in Dallas. Texas in summer can be brutal, so a nice air-conditioned mall is great versus a drive up center where you have to deal with the heat in between stores. On the other hand, I hate malls during Christmas.
