what i dont like about malls in my area these days? is the fact that i have to fear for my life lol. i was at the southcenter mall in tukwila i think it was last week and there was a gang shooting inside the mall when 1 person died. just the day before that, there was another gang shooting in the parking lot, and like 4 months ago there was another shooting at the mall. not to mention my mom and i were at the tacoma mall a few years ago when they had the tacoma mall shooting where i think it was 7 people were injured?

lol also i think malls could have better food in there food court, close at 10 instead of 9:30, but other than that i think the malls here are better than some of the malls i've been to in other states.

Malls lack heart and soul. They are the breeding grounds of consumerism, starting at a very young age with visits to Santa Claus in the mall.
Malls are a contibuting factor to the deconstruction of man. They are in the same category as the Military Industrial Complex.
Someone is taking malls a little too seriously......

Somebody has to wake up. Alot of us are living in La La land getting sucked into the capitalist machine- driving their giant SUV's to the Super Mall, buying their sweat shop made clothing and literally killing people to get into Walmart.

You should move to the "wonderful island paradise" that is Cuba so you never have to worry about the "evil" that is capitalism again. In Cuba you will finally be free and will know what it's like to experience freedom where here in the U.S it feels like you live in a concentration camp in Nazi Germany.

I will get free health care too.
Capitalism is a form of slavery that locks people into debt and causes people to chase false dreams.
Its not about only opposite extremes- like absolute communism (Cuba) or absolute capitalism. There are in betweens, but people here especially on the General U.S. forum are all about absolutes, ie. "Best and Worst city" blah, blah, blah.
Communism is taken to extremes and is just as evil as this capitalist regim we live in.
It doesn't feel like a concentration camp here cuz we have Television and products to distract us from the reality of the situation.
Shopping malls are a part of the collective Capitalist Machine destroying our country and its people.
WAKE UP!

^^Sometimes I just can't stand malls either.
I also agree, how can we say that we have a true democracy here in the U.S. if we are under a Capitalist economic system! Under capitalism you will ALWAYS have those who are rich and those who are poor. Then they convince us that spreading democracy and capitalism to the world is what's "RIGHT" and "BEST" for everyone? By claiming war to other nations and killing thousands of innocent lives? WHO ARE THE REAL TERRORIST?? But as Americans we are too busy shopping at Malls, watching fictional movies, "reality" shows, and "News" on T.V. that only unveils what our Government wants us to know. Because learning about "How to save money this holiday season" is far more important than WHATS ACTUALLY HAPPENING IN THE WORLD? Its all a SYSTEM and we are all little pieces on a game board controlled by those who have money. Money equals power.
This video is VERY informative about EVERYTHING that's going on in the world today. Although many things of the future presented are just theories they have truth to them. Its long but it DOES NOT dissapoint.

You must live near me then. Come to Rapid City sometime. Haven't you ever been to a larger city like Cheyenne, Denver, or Rapid City???

I hate all the shopping that goes on in malls. They would be fine without the shopping...

Malls are fine for their functional purpose, but malls just go not soul. Dowtowns--good downtowns--are places of real character. Malls are just blah.

Besides, in the right location, it's possible to walk to downtown and find convenient shopping in a compact neighborhood where the stores are close together. Malls always seem to be located away from residential neighborhoods. You have to drive there. They stand apart from the homes of the people who patronize them. Downtowns are physically integrated into their towns and cities. They add to a town's character. Malls add to a sprawl zone's sterile feel. Malls are just blah.
