they have destroyed Main St business, so there goes a good reason for totally hating them.
Actually the first shopping centers is what really repalce main street stores as people mved furhter from main street. I can remmeber the first shopping center it was about four blocks long and had retty much everything needed with free easy parking. Many don't remmeber how hard it was and expensive to psrk in main strret town on a weekend.Tyhe shopping centers were free with no problem find a parking spot for free.I remmebr my mother sending me to put more change in the meter every 45 minutes. If not sure ticket.
Well....I live in Houston so every mall you go to, you got to deal with traffic. The crowds are horrible, too many immature kids running around and just hanging out. Honestly, I just hate malls.period. I prefer strip malls because I can just get in and get out.
The crowds. And I get more peace and quiet shopping online. I like the strip mall with the grocery stores in them though. Then its no big deal to go into a clothing store.
The fact that there aren't any clocks in them (less relevant these days, since most of us carry cell phones with built-in clocks, but in previous decades, jeez it could be disorienting wandering around in there not knowing what time it was).
I hate that (certain) people bring Grandma, Grandpa, 6 kids, a toddler & infant in stroller & everyone in that family walks so slowly that you can't get around them. Then you get a glare from one of them if you do try and get around them.
Main street business self destructed long before there were malls.
Yup, Main Street's demise can best be described as assisted suicide. Their high prices and low selection were killing them and supermarkets/malls/Walmart came along and dealt the final blow.

You got that right. I walk briskly around them and I don't care what they think. Maybe they drive like they walk too.
