i bought the deluxe version of the regular-king size (not california or anything) tempurpedic mattress from a store in town for $2,899 ($100 off of the website price) and they delivered it with 2 twin size off brand foundations.

i was wondering if i was supposed to get a one piece tempurpedic brand foundation... because that's what i thought i was paying for... what did you get?

As far as I know (not saying I know all) - King does always come with two twin size foundations. How do you like the tempurpedic though? I send for the sample and it was a size that a little 2"x2" doll would possibly like - I've read though that they retain body heat so didn't go that route.

I've got the knock-off from Costco and am very pleased with it. I used my 2 box springs that I had for my king mattress.

Ditto. And we have some sort of foundation thing below the mattress.
This bed is absolutely DIVINE--I never want to get out of it in the morning!
It does not retain body heat the way the older version did.
I really notice the difference.
Very expensive, but money well spent.

We live in New England so the heat retention is not a problem for us . We keep our bedroom cool though and when I climb into the bed the first minute or so it sometimes feels like a slab of cement, but then it quickly warms up. We like our bed!
