The local Honda dealership sent me a letter that said $5,000 discount + 0% financing on select new 2009 Honda vehicles. I am not going to bite on this. What kind of offers are you getting?

I don't think he understands the term "bait and switch". Why don't we just call it extortion or embezzlement or salad fork!

Why not research prices and see if they indeed are offering the same make/model for $5,000 less?

Usually, most dealers do one or the other. Not both. If there is a good deal for you, take it. I not, don't go.

It depends on honda finance as to rates. I got 0.9% not too long ago with alittle over 5000 off a Odessey.Be aware tho that now you need good credit as that is what the well qualified buyer disclaimer is about.

The ad makes you think you can get a $16000 Honda Civic for $11,000. If you go there, they offer you an expensive vehicle that is loaded with options, and then they have a bunch of dealer add-ons like glass etching and rust protection. Then they try to sell you that Honda Civic for $15,000.

Even the TV ads always say "for well qualified buyers".

This was a personal letter to me. It didn't say which models I could choose from, how many months the 0% was good for, or what the cost of dealer add-ons would be. It did say it was a one day sale on next Saturday. It did not say some buyers would not qualify for zero financing.

Why don't you go over there next Saturday and see what they have to offer. Then you'll know if they are going to pull a bait and switch.
