But, was that their "everyday low price"? Was it perhaps a "special buy", "temporary rollback", "limited quantity", or whatever other marketing b.s. gimmick that they employ. The maker that i bought at Target ~6 months ago was 44.95 at regular price, Wally was 47 something for the exact same product. I did notice them advertising a "rollback" a few weeks later though................to 45.00. Wow....

Myth, big bad Wal-Mart scare tactics, or in simpler terms, that bullcrap.

Same brand, same model, same UPC code, same damn coffee maker, same manufacturer warranty and was $20 cheaper, which in this case is 29% cheaper.

Same as the scare tactics that it drives small businesses out of businesses. A small town west of here had a Wal-Mart, and it was surrounded by a number of small local businesses.

Wal-Mart built a bigger store about 5 miles away and closed the small one. The traffic at the small locally owned businesses dropped dramatically, and they either closed, or also had to move to the same complex the new Wal-Mart was located in.

I am so surprised at the anti Walmart sentiment here.

As a family on a limited budget these days, I love Walmart. I haven't found lower prices anywhere. Especially on groceries and cleaning supplies.

Regular price, no yellow price sticker like I saw on some other items that were on sale. Shelf edge tag listed Make, model, capacity (12 cups) and a short list of features plus the price, nothing else.

I do, and they last for years. Sur la Table is also great.

The only thing better than a WalMart is a Super WalMart.

If we had a Super WalMart, a Home Depot, and a Trader Joe's, in town they could tear down all the other stores and plant trees and flowers instead.

Maybe instead of all trees and flowers, some of the land could be used for community gardens so the residents could grow vegetables.

Everything needed to grow a good garden can be found at WalMart and Home Depot.

So, basically, you want to live in Communist China? What would keep your 3 stores from charging $500 for towels, $1,000 for a hammer and $2,000 for a loaf of bread?
