It gets more and more rediculous every year. And it totally ruins the holiday season for me. But the time December rolls around I am so sick to death of Christmas I can't wait for New Years. When I was growing up they put out the Christmas stuff in November right after Halloween and even that was early. But in July, that's just capitalism as it's core.

When I worked at a certain home improvement store, all the supervisors were required to work overnight on October 31st (parties be damned!) to decorate for Christmas. The Christmas music started at 6am On November 1st and didn't stop until January 31st.
My problem is that I hate summer, so if I go out and see Christmas stuff on the shelves already, I'm gonna have this momentary period of disorientation, thinking that fall is here and isn't that wonderful!?!? Bye-bye, heat! Bye-bye, unrelenting sunshine! Bye-bye, humidity! Bye-bye, endless applications of sunscreen! Fall is here! Woot! Woot! *happy dance* Christmas stuff is on the shelves! Summer is over! Cooler weather is here again...happy days are here again!
May-December: Christmas
One week in June: July 4th
September and October: Halloween
3 days in November: Thanksgiving
January-February: Valentines Day
February-April: Easter
At least they are calling it "Christmas" which is what it is. That is a good sign. Political correctness be damned and rot in hell !!
Don't hold back. What do you really think? heeheehee
I don't care what it is called. I know what it represents to me and that is what is important to me.
I like Political Correctness because I've heard the other side of it and it gets really nasty.
My philosophy is "Get what you need from the holiday and allow others to do the same."
