My bank account is free, deposits/withdrawals are free, electronic payroll deposit is free, debit card use (unlimited) is free, and unlimited online billpay is free. Who's missing the point now??
I have friends who work at banks, and there are lots of shady reasons you might not want to have an accout at one, even if they are free (which many or most are not unless you have a certain minimum average balance).
THAT"S THE POINT OF CASHING THE CHECK, because it's very unlikely the person won't buy anything in their store. Yes people don't have to spend money in there but they WILL
And why, exactly, are you so hung up on this? The way you're carrying on, you'd think Wal-Mart was the first retailer ever to draw people into the store with the intent of selling them more stuff or that there's something sinister about this.

It doesn't have to be creative or even stealthy. It only has to be effective. Every advertisement of goods and services is an attempt to get people into the advertiser's store and every adult with a higher IQ than a parsnip knows it, yet you act like you've stumbled upon and exposed some great secret here.

Nothing is wrong with it, I was making Fun of how CORNY the commercial is. Me and my mom was laughing at how they had two professional looking people on the commercial when we are know those are not the kind of people who shop at Walmart

Really? I suggest you come and check out the Walmart where I live...where the average household income is well into the six figures.

I don't see it as poor advertising at all, there are far worse things out there.
So when I see a restaurant ad on TV enticing me with discounts or some other such gimmick, how is that different than Walmart? What commercial on TV isn't a obvious attempt to get you to spend money?
I'm just curious as to why you singled out this one commercial out of thousands, that all have the same goal?

Because the hidden agenda in this advertisement was very visible which made the commercial corny

Well, if it was THAT visible, I wouldn't call it a hidden agenda.
