I have been getting mail parcels from Amazon that I did not order. I have no idea why they are shipping stuff to me. The merchandise does not show up on my account, and I am apparently not getting billed for it.

I get one or two parcels a week. I have been writing "REFUSED" on the box and the post office takes it away.

Has anyone else experienced this from Amazon? What is going on? I'm afraid to order anything from Amazon because I don't want to open a package I did not order. If I open the package, I don't think the Post Office will dispose of it for me.

One word: "Brushing". It's a scam. You might as well keep the items, and use or sell them, because your personal information has already been compromised, and there is not much you can do about it.

BRUSHING SCAM: CAN IT REALLY HURT YOU?

Investigators believe that third-party sellers on Amazon are buying their own products in order to leave a wonderful five-star review, then using victims’ names and addresses to appear as independent customers.

Thanks for the info. I wonder who gets dinged for the return postage if I refuse a parcel? It's still a nuisance. Most of the stuff is just junk.

Probably the seller. Why not just donate them to Goodwill or something?

Your main problem is that your personal information is floating around out there. Which will make you vulnerable to identity theft. So keep a careful watch out for that possibility. Check your credit report often. Good luck.
