It is actually very hard to find women's socks that are not either those real short ones or knee highs in any color other than white. I guess they do not think women wear roll over or mid length socks anymore.

How can socks be 100% cotton? Don't they need at least a small percentage of elastic to hold them up?
Bingo! Even if the 'body' of the sock is 100% cotton, the materials list will still include synthetics because of the elastic or whatever the heck else is used to keep the thing clinging to your calf.
I would not want 100% cotton white socks? They get hot and are not very breathable. I don't think they are as comfortable either. I prefer the ones that have some spandex and breathable materials and are lightweight in feel.
I think the problem is that too many manufacturers and retailers want only 2 or 3 kinds of any one product, and that the stupid ankle socks and no-show socks displaced tube socks.
My problem is that my feet are unusually short, and that any sock with a bent heel in it puts the heel partway up my ankle. Tube socks were the answer.

I use Wigwam's 'King Cotton' crews, available in black, gray, and white. I'm not ashamed to show I'm wearing socks, unlike most of today's 'no-show' crowd.
