We are in the market for a new washer/dryer. We want a front loading set. Does anyone has access to Consumer Reports? I looked online but they want to charge for looking at their information. I have been reading grat things about the LG Steam front loaders...but a set will set us back around $2500. Is it worth it, or maybe we should buy a cheaper version? No Whirlpool at all. Our set right now (top loaders), is Whirlpool Gold and the waher is only 6 years old. Been having several problems with it for 2 years now!!

^^ You might want to look in CD's House forum for info. You might have to do a search. There has been a lot of discussion on the pros and cons.

My brother has 2-year old LG steam front loaders and has had a few minor issues, but overall liked them. I bought Frigidaire front loaders and never had a single problem, but they had fewer features. Unfortunately though, I dont have access to CR, but that would be a great source. May be worth the money.

Funny you should ask, i did a search a while back, forgot the website, but wrote down the machines that they recommend.

They stated these were great machines, some with all the bells and whistles, priced good, new features and they were each tested.

Whirlpool they said were getting most of the sales
WITH LG right behind.
Samsung
Maytag
GE
and Frigidaire Hope this helps, you can look into each of these models. I am going to be looking at the New Samsung and Whirlpool and GE. Hope this helps.
