I live out-of-state now but grew up in Shreveport and lived there part of my young-adult life.

Andybody remember Murrell's resturant at the corner of Youree and E. King's?

Someone told me it closed.

I remember the fried egg sandwich and getting breakfast at 3am on Sunday mornings after drinking downtown or over at what used to be Cowboys in B.C.

Awe the good ole '80's and '90's!

Responses?

Cheers!

Most definitely remember Murrells. They did close a while back. I frequented Murrells in the late 70's. Used to go to the Rusty Nail which was across and down the street from Murrells. Both are gone now. The band Trout Fishing in America that used to play at the Rusty Nail has a song called Murrells and it is about the same restaurant. Check it out, it'll bring back some memories.

Used to eat at the one on Airline back in the day. Good greasy food. Dunno if they're still open now though.

The only Murrell's in existance today is on Hwy 71 at the Red River Marina. All others are history.

Rusty Nail was demolished years ago to make room for a church's chicken which closed and is now a Pho (Vietnamese) place. Go figure

It's hard to believe that a place like the Rusty Nail would close. That place was always packed.

There is not that many bars like the Rusty Nail around Shreveport anymore. Sports bars with food are much more popular these days. Thing of the past.
