I'm from southwest,la and my fiance is from texas. We want to find a good place to live. We are an interracial couple with a child. We want to move to a place that is safe, but not too expensive to live. Can anyone make any good suggestions?

North Louisiana is a great place to live. I live in Bossier City which is near Shreveport. Bossier is home to Barksdale Afb and there are many different cultures and races that coexist quite nicely here. The area is safe and the schools are fantastic. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

I agree. Bossier is a great place to live wih great schools. Bossier has a lot of military families due to Barksdale. So choosing a community somewhere close to base, I would imagine, would give you the comforting and secure feeling you are searching for. One place I would suggest looking into is Savannah Place. It's about a mile and a half from the base and seems to have very reasonalbe home prices.

If interested in S. Bossier, for get the cookie cutter houses of Savannah Place and look at the custome homes in the Gardens of Southgate.

Sure, Gardens of Southgate is a beautiful neighborhood with custom houses, but if you're trying to get more space for your dollar, those homes in Savannah are really nice. My wife and I have driven through both communities recently, because we are in the market for purchasing rental homes, and where Gardens does have beautiful houses, Savannah Place has similar size homes with a few less "custom" features for like $50,000 less.
