Planning to move into the area within 6 months. I was just wondering if the area around huntington golf course in shreveport a good area to live? I saw a house my spouse and I are interested in off of woolworth next to bert kerns loop and wondered if that was a good area. Thanks for all the advice

The area is ok; schoolwise not really. Walnut Hill middle school is supposed to be very good which is on Woolworth Rd. I don't know maybe you don't need to be concerned agbout schools. Crime wise the area is not too bad. But Huntington Park is not the best area itself. Woolworth Rd should be fine I believe.

The area is pretty decent, as mentioned before Walnut Hill middle school is a pretty decent school. You wouldn't have to worry much about schools until high school, which I think would lead to Huntington High in that area, maybe Southwood, either way not good choices unless your kids qualify for Caddo magnet or Byrd.

Seems like Huntington High makes the news more frequently because of a high incidence of school violence either between students or teachers getting caught on iPhones whupping up on some teen who started an incident. West S'port....used to be great decades ago...but I knew folks who took a hit trying to sell their homes and move East to Bossier about 10 years ago. Just tellin' it like I know it.
