We're visiting our daughter in Shreveport over the Thanksgiving holidays, and we're looking for a good place to eat Thanksgiving dinner. It doesn't necessarily have to be in Shreveport or Bossier City...we're willing to travel a reasonable distance for a good dinner.

I know you may consider this to be a ridiculous suggestion but truly my favorite has always been the Holidome (Holiday Inn) which is located at the Inner Loop and I-20, Shreveport. I don't believe a party needs reservations, but you may want to check anyway.

I agree with both statements - however, it beats eating at a "no-name) Chinese or Mexican place. That's from our experience in traveling to different places over the holidays!

LBB-Hope you didn't take my suggestion of the Holiday Inn Holidome as an insult-it really is good. There are also some truck stops and as maine mentioned, the casinos.

Try the Cracker Barrel. It has a great Thanksgiving menu, or if you have base access, Barksdale AFB clubs has a big spread.

I just spoke with Copeland's Cajun Steakhouse in Shreveport off of Bert Koon's Hwy. They're doing a special spread for Thanksgiving. They've stopped taking reservations, but they have walk-in availability. For a nice place with atmosphere and good service, their probably your best bet.

Interesting this thread has resurfaced. Op must have thought that little ol' Shreveport was just full of homestyle southern restaurants serving thanksgiving. Truth is, no more than any other place.
