Hi there! We are hopefully relocating to Shreveport in the next month or two. I am trying to do some research on cost of living and attempting to work out a budget and know what our base salary needs are so that my husband is prepared when he gets his offer next week. I know housing prices are significantly lower than where we are currently (Orange County, CA) but I wasnt sure about utilities. Can anyone tell me what a 3 bedroom house might cost for gas, electric, and water? Do landlords typically charge for water and garbage? We currently pay for a two-bedroom two-story house: $40 for gas, $120 for electric, and water and garbage is covered in the rental amount.
I am expecting utilites to cost less, but if we use more (ex: running the AC constantly in the hot months) we might just wind up spending more overall. Thank you for your help! We are hoping the offer meets our needs!

Not sure how helpful this will be but...

We live in Bossier in a 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment (~1100 sqft) and our gas is ~$30/month, electric fluctuates from as low as $60/month to as high as $110/month in the summer. Our apartment complex covers water, sewer and garbage.

For a 3-bedroom house in the summer I would expect around that same level, maybe a bit more (I like it really cold, so my bill is always higher).
