I am going to move to Shreveport in May 2013. I would appreciate recommendations for affordable housing where I don't have to worry about getting knifed, shot, sharing space with mice! Roaches or other varmints.

I am an old guy and don't care about party areas and I am not made of money. $1100 for a 1/1 is too high

I appreciate the replies.

You should be able to find decent digs for under $1K. But Shreveport-Bossier is pretty spread out. If you had any ideas of where you'd want to live that would help folks suggest. I know of two really nice apt complexes that are fairly new in S. Bossier that you could get into for less than $1K.

I will be working in the Broadmoor area. If you would post the names of the complexes, I would appreciate it. More or less, I am wanting to keep all apt expenses including utilities under $1000

It's do-able but you'll have to judge the properties based on your preferences. Sending you a PM with links FWIW.

Spring Lake Point is in a very good neighborhood, gated, has crawfish boils every March/April for a dollar., salt water pools, staff are really nice and maintenance is good..the apartments are nice with fire places and balconies....and a one bedroom is 700-800 dollars a month. It's behind Outback.

Which this post is like months ago...ha. So you probably found something.
