I am currently researching a move to Bossier City, and it looks like a go. Our son and his family live in Bossier, and want to move close to them. My school age boy will be attending high schhol by the time we move. Can my son attend Caddo Magnet High in Shreveport while we live in Bossier? Is there a waiting list to get into this school? I read into the criteria and he does meet it, but it looks like one of those schhols where you need to "know someone" to get in. Any info would be appriciated.

I don't think your son can attend a school in Caddo Parish if you live in Bossier Parish. In any event, Bossier Parish's normal public schools are just as good as Caddo Parish's Magnet Schools. Caddo Parish had to create the magnet schools so the decent kids could get a decent education. In Bossier Parish, every public school kid can get a decent education... particularly at Benton, Haughton, Parkway, and Airline High Schools.
