If you're referring to the recent study cited by CNN from the University of Vermont's geotagging of tweets to map-out the moods of Americans in urban areas... then you'd have to take that finding with a grain of salt. They study outcomes revealed that the frequency of negative words used in a sample of tweets from the Shreveport area was exceptionally high...ergo revealing a sad or negative mood being more pervasive when compared to other urban areas.

Not exactly a scientific finding but it doesn't help out with promoting a good image of the psyche' of the tweeters in Shreveport. Louisiana typically ranks low in a lot of areas and so this seems to fuel the negative perception. Top 5 cities cited as being the saddest included Beaumaont TX, Albany GA, Texas City TX, Shreveport LA, and Monroe LA.

Here's a link to the study if interested: http://arxiv.org/pdf/1302.3299.pdf

It's a stupid study. I heard about it. New Orleans is high on that list and there's anything but sadness going on down there. They need to turn it down a few notches
