Hi everyone! I am from TX and am coming to visit a relative in Willis Knighton North. On my last visit I stayed in a Travellodge right down the street from WK. We really had a bad experience and the motel was in a shady part of town. So can anyone recommend a nice motel that is not too far from the hospital. I dont need anything luxurious, just a place that is clean and has the basics but is not in the bad part of town. It will be my 2 yr old, my fiance and I. We are on a budget so dont want to spend too much! Maybe from 50-80 bucks per night. We'll only be in town for about 2 days and go back home on Monday!

Travel Lodge is in a sketchy area and the Cajun Inn is also. There really isn't anything near WK that I would call suitable. Head east to Bossier City or west to Pines Road exit. There are plenty of places along the service road there. The two motels at Spring st. in downtown at I-20 are fine, but I don't know about the prices. I don't think Monkhouse Dr. where the airport is has anything really good but you can check there. Monkhouse exit or downtown would be your closest places to stay. There is a comfort inn or something like that off I-49 and Kings Hwy near the University hospital. It shouldn't be too bad and again, not far from WK

The Holiday Inn Financial Plaza before you get to 3132 inner loop if you're coming in from E-Tx is a pretty good hotel and not near anything sketchy. There's the Homewood suites...also... you can also check other places along Pines Rd. like Fairfield Inn. Monkhouse Drive ... you need to be careful....your better hotels are the Holiday Inn Express and Best Western Richmond Suites, check for national brands...other hotels along Monkhouse... kinda sketchy from what I recall.

You can do a better search on the Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau website:

I visit Shreveport frequently ince my son is a student at Centenary. I would refer you to the Mariott Residence Inn on Monkhouse. You will get free breakfast every morning. The rooms are suites and really nice. Located on Monkhouse and I-20.
