Let's Consider to Market These Facilities> To Tech and Vocational Program Providers.

As Discussed in Previous Post: We let countless excellent school facilities sit empty to deteriorate, unaware they are strategically located in areas where the greatest need for vocational and technical skill training is needed. We fail to understand how to take advantage of the "Pell Grant" system, which by every means can pay enough for short term training or at least half of what a full course training requires. We can work with public utilities to develop a heavy discount rate for services utilized by these facilities. (It is in the best interest of public utilities, in the long run, because well trained people become employed, and therefore they rent and buy houses which utilize public utility services as they pay taxes on these properties).

Based on the Reports and Conditions, Existing Schools seem to pose a challenge within the system. It would be beneficial to "lease the closed facilities to vocation and technical Organizations, who may have and can get Grant and Loan Funding to make these building useful to the young adults for skill training.
The lease rate need not be prohibitive, with high regard for the maintenance cost.

Under good programming and Per Student Cost to complete a course, these facilities can become beneficial to the young adults, middle age adults going through job transition who are in need of skill upgrades.

We as a region, can then 'Upgrade our Respect for Vocational and Technical Certification, and challenge the madness of a system which has been deluded to think only a University Degree is of value.
We need to take a lead, to bring respect to the capability of people and the respect of non University programs.

EVERYONE IS NOT GOING TO GO TO A UNIVERSITY !!! The sooner we learn and accept this fact, the sooner we can be on a path to improve our Vocational and Technical Skill Training, The sooner we can make it a PRIORITY, to improve the respect in our region for the Vocational and Technically Trained people.

It is a poor responsibility to allow these facilities to remain UN-occupied. We must remember these facilities belong to "you", the public !!!! what will we do with these "UN-utilized vacant facilities",

Consider our options when the goal is to make use of them for the benefit of our Regional People.

We can upgrade how we are viewed as a region, by promoting the Vocational and Technical Training of our citizens who need these training programs through Leasing Programs to a broad range of vocational training. Maybe some of the Universities may wake up and develop some of these facilities as a branch of Vocational and Technical Training arms of their programming. Since the Universities are always chasing money, then why not expand their operations to support "Vocational and Technical" Training Centers. Eventually, some of these same vocational and technical trained students may decide to further their education and actually go on to attend the University.

Once the model is established, Other Cities Across the Nation, may well see the benefit and take steps to improve their training and skill standards in their regions, by developing partnerships with Universities and Colleges to support utilizing these vacant facilities as " V&T Certification Centers" for improvements in our societies vocational and technical training.

School List - If you have updated information on Vacant Facilities: Please update and correct ,based on schools which no longer operate and remain vacant.

People complain about many things, but they have not even a word to say, when discussing a program and development of a system which can be beneficial to not only the youth, but many adults who need skill re-development.
I'm amazed we get anything done when it comes to the general population, when they won't even engage subject matter to explore and expound upon ideas.

I guess some people have contempt because they resent anyone else proposing an idea.
