Lake living - Shreveport
Hello to Everyone--we are looking to relocate to the Shreveport area next year to be closer to my husband's work. He works in the oil field outside of Tyler, TX. He drives through Shreveport every 2 weeks & really likes it. Our choices are Dallas & Shreveport and we don't want the hussle & bussle of the BIG city like Dallas. Been there-done that!!

We are just starting to look into the relocation process now. We don't want to jump into anything to fast. I've found this forum very helpful so far. But I haven't found much information about living on or near the Lake. Is there type of housing/properties on the Lake? Where could I get more info about that area? Is the area very expensive?

What are the closest neighborhoods or areas to the lake? Any input or helpful information would be greatly apprecite it.

Thanks in advance.

It appears as if your previous post in April asking the same question didn't generate any responses. I'd suggest that you do an internet search for "Cross Lake." In the search results you'll find a number of helpful links to real estate options in that area. You can also request information from the Chamber of Commerce in Shreveport. They will be able to assist you with information about relocating to the Shreveport area, and they'll be able to answer your questions.

By the way I meant no harm in my reply, I just knew I had read that same information before somewhere.

Here's one (web site) I found using Google search (shreveport cross lake properties) just as leorah suggested. There's a few Cross Lake homes listed here plus some on other area lakes. You might want to try Caddo Lake too but it's not as close to Shreveport as is Cross Lake.

Thank you everyone for the helpful information.....And yes I did post the same comment back in April. I didn't get ANY response, (which was very disappointing, because alot of the same questions are asked over and over again about relocating to Shreveport, and still they get responses. But nothing about Waterfront property.) so I decieded to post it again. And I'm glad I did, because now I know where to start my search for Waterfront properties.

Does anyone know anything about those areas around the Lakes? If anyone would like to add any additional information, it would be greatly appreicated.

I usually answer any question I can here on this forum, but I know nothing about lakefront property so I couldn't even begin to help. Glad you found something!

Hey SBC isnt there that nice lake side place of of Ellerbre, I think I saw it a few years ago while visiting my parents. I think it is something like Lakeside, or you also have some lots at Olde Oaks, off Sligo, am I correct, its been over a year since I've been back home.
