My husband and i are looking into relocating from houma,la to somewheres around bossier city,la and was wondering what a good place would be to buy a house? We know people around the Elm Grove area and would like to know what is there to do? We have 2 kids age 3 months and 3 years so i would definetly want to know about schools, great/bad neighborhoods, crime, and things for kids to do. We are looking into the price range of about 150's. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks..

North Bossier is a good area. Good schools, beautiful parks (Cypress Black Bayou, Brownlee Park). As for things to do, there's bowling, skating, Party Central, Chuck E Cheese (though I hate the rat), Pierre-Bossier Mall, Boardwalk, Barnwell Center, fountains on Clyde-Fant Parkway, SciPort, Festival Plaza, Air Show, great fishing spots, Caddo Lake, and lots more. Bossier City was named by Business Week as the best place to raise your kids in Louisiana 2009.

Homes in the subdivision across from Wal-Mart tend to be less expensive, but it's hit and miss according to where your children will go to school. Stockwell is the best elementary school in north Bossier according to the Louisiana Board of Education. Homes are a little more pricier there. Of course, I'm still relatively new to the area, so maybe some natives can give you more advice/experience.
