My wife and I are being moved to Shreveport around July from Phoenix. We have been looking at apartments on line, but we dont have much knowledge of the area. I will be working south of town. We have thought about the united jewelers apartments, does anyone have any knowledge, feedback, good or bad?

Nothing wrong with United Jewelers Apartments. Nice urban living right in the middle of downtown, within walking distance of the Festival Plaza. If I didn't have my own home, I'd live there. I have friends who have lived there for a while and they really like it.

Isn't United Jewelers income restricted? Or is that just Lee Hardware? Either way though, both are nice buildings.

In Shreveport, you want to be East of I49 and South of I20. There are exceptions, of course, but that tends to be the nicest areas and will certainly keep you out of trouble spots. How much are you looking to spend, what kind of lifestyle are you looking for, etc?

Lee Hardware is income-restricted, but not United Jewelers. In fact, rent at United Jewelers is on par with what one would pay at Spring Lake Point... I lived there before, and I'd take United Jewelers over them any day.
