I'm nearing retirement in California ...grew up in South Dakota and have relatives and friends in Sioux Falls. I'm thinking about a few options ......1. Spending summer months or part of summer in Sioux Falls and the rest still in CA 2. Spending more time than that in S Falls....and perhaps establishing residency in S.D. ...then spend winter etc elsewhere....travel etc.
Anyway, am wondering about options for finding a decent furnished place for a month or two next summer to explore how it would feel , etc. I'd like it to be comfortable and have TV, decent bed, etc. wifi etc, refrig etc. I know there are extended stay types....for example Value Place charges $300 a week..drops down to $260 a week after a month (includes taxes in this amount) but $1350 a month seems a little steep. On the other hand, I don't really want to get stuck in some stranger's one bedroom for a couple of months....
Any ideas for maybe a set up similar to Value place...furnished like it except not as expensive? Thanks for any ideas.
There are apartment complexes with signs around town that the first month is free. They obviously need tenants. I'd check into various apartment complexes in town (of which they are innumerable) and be up front telling them that you'll only need 3 months accommodation. I'd bet that you find some places pretty quick. Don't discount the many duplexes that are for rent in town either.
