Rooney got a goal..nice strike right outside the box..typical rooney goal.

I think that Bilbao wanted it more..they pressed hard all game long and did not let united have ball possession. Bilbao are an excellent team with great passing skill, they could have done the same to many top teams. United had spells of good playing but simply didnt have enough of the ball. It's like we played Barca-mid (not lite).

Thanks for the info. Hopefully they (Utd) won't be tired v Wolves because of this game. In a way I am glad they're out of this Europa League. Now let's get concentrated on winning the league.

BTW, what do you think of Javi Martinez? How good is he?
There were reports in the past that Man Utd are interested in him.
And that guy Llorente looks like a real danger up front. Commentators hailed his goal today comparing his finish to Van Basten's. Was it that good?

Javi Martinez looks the part...good passing...very composed..wouldnt mind him in midfield that's for sure.

The Llorente goal was a bit of a lucky wonderstrike...llorente, rio and de gea were following a volley in from left to right towards the outside of the box, he volleyed it low against the run of play to the left and it beat De Gea. Other than that i was not that impressed with him- missed a sitter or two if i remember correctly.

Bilbao are that good infinitekid, Man United were trying they just got beat in every department. And are you serious about the Llorente goal? It was amazing technique.

The amazing thing about Bilbao is all there players are local, they are all from the Basque region or of Basque heritage, unheard of since the times of Celtics Lisbon Lions who won the European cup and all stayed just a few miles from Celtic Park, that the way football should be!

And Javi Martinez looks a quality player Pete.

Llorente is a good player but he is very expensive like most players in Europe these days. The best strikers in Europe right now are RVP, Mario Gomes and Cavani. The best young talent in Europe at the moment is Hazard I would say. He is just class but not as good as Messi of course.
