Rangers are to go into administration after lodging the notice in Edinburgh at Monday lunchtime.

It is understood Gers have five days in which to formally declare administrators have taken over the running of the club.

The Scottish Premier League champions are facing an uncertain future as they await the verdict of a tax tribunal.

The famous Ibrox club could face a bill in the region of £49million should they lose their dispute with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).

The club's financial problems are well documented following the decision to sell star striker Nikica Jelavic to Everton in January.

Gers have now shown their hand after lodging an intention to go into administration with the Court of Session.
I would be lieing if I said this didnt make me smile a bit

They aren't in it yet, but looks likely. I as a Dundee fan know how terrible this can be, what gets my goat is that they are saying Rangers might get a 10 points deduction Dundee FC got a 25 points deduction, just shows you even though Rangers are going into administration the top dogs will make sure they don't go under unlike us where they tried their best to make us extinct, but we fought hard and even with a 25 points deduction we finished above midtable and are pushing for promotion to this SPL this season!

I know what you mean Paul. Shelbourne won the league and got relegated and almost made a part of history. FAI tried to make an example of us. Every club since has been allowed to clear their debts and rename their club and get away scot free.

I wonder how it would affect Celtic fans back home. Your avg fan only knows Celtic and Rangers and if they dont have Rangers to hate why support Celtic ?

Rangers are now officially in administration. £75million tax bill for a any team is crippling but a team in Scotland where the champions (never mind the teams outwith the top 2) earn considerably less than the relegated teams in the EPL, now that's gonna really hurt.

You think a sugar daddy and supporters trust will step in or will they copy the FAI and brush it all under the carpet ? Let them disappear and reform like it never happened with no punishment ?
