Most of the Italian squad play in Serie A. Same here...I don't follow it so those players aren't household names to me.

Pirlo, Buffon, Chiellini, Motta, De Rossi, Montolivo, Balotelli, Cassano and Di Natale are as known as most players in Europe I would say.

Did anyone else see the bug walking on the glass of the TV camera during the overhead shots?

What a year for Torres and Mata. They win the Champions League and then finish things out for their country.

The Spaniards delivered when they had to and saved the best for last. It was a nice game until Motta had his injury. After that, it became a bit painful to watch, to be honest.

Kudos to the Italians for their worthy tournament, but the Spanish were downright superior. What a passing game, what a chilling precision and technique!

i felt sorry for the italians , the score was not reflective of the quality of spains opposition , once italy went down to ten men , they more or less stopped playing , they are a much better team than that and although spain would have won , italy have had a great tournament and pirlo was my player of the tournament , honorable mention goes to the often criticised sergio ramos

Lol if this is Torres's worst year in football, scored in the champions league final and wins the golden boot at Euro 2012 and scores and sets up a goal in the final, then how good is he gonna be when he finds his form again!

Congrats Spain, truly are in the mix to be the best international team ever.
