You call what we have here a league, its not. A league would be one table with everyone playing each other twice and the winner coming out on top. You yourself said "It's one league, two conferences. Just like every other league in America. " which its not. Its a tournament. MLS simply doesnt have that, its a cup not a league.
Just going by the data. MLS is getting beat in TV ratings by the WNBA. That's a pretty clear denunciation of MLS by soccer fans.
Pure b.s.
Average attendances:
Major League Soccer (18,807)
National Hockey League (17,455)
National Basketball Association (17,407)
National Lacrosse League (9,722)
Arena Football League (7,841) Women's National Basketball Association (7,452)
The reason the WNBA gets a TV contract for some type of Title IX guilt trip put on the networks by the Left. If MLS were televised to the extent that WNBA was, it would get better ratings.
Looks like the fans have clearly denounced the WNBA.
Yeah.. obviously time will be needed though, for better lower divisions to be created
Yeah, that's not happening here. You're more likely to see 30 teams within the next decade in the MLS than teams moving up and down. That's just not how we do things here.

Keep in mind that the NBA and NHL's facilities are smaller than the MLS.
Arena Football and the WNBA are bottom feeders. No need to even talk about those.

That and the average ticket price for an MLS game is considerably lower than the average ticket price for an NHL, or NBA game.
