The most recent world wide FIFA official competition of national teams was the 2013 Confederations Cup.
Who won the 2013 Confederations Cup?
Brazil won...
The last edition of FIFA's most important club competition, the FIFA Club World Cup, played in December 2012, was won by SC Corinthians.
From where SC Corinthians is?
From Brazil.
Even when Brazil won the most recent FIFA worldwide competitions both for national teams and for clubs, I see that Brazilian football is still very underestimated lately...
I say it's probably due to their showing at the last wc, and they seem to lack that one transcendent superstar like in years past (nothing against Neymar but he's not there yet).

Maybe you're right about the WC...
Even when Brazil won the World Cup in 2002, and won the last 3 editions of the Confederations Cup (2005, 2009, and 2013), it didn't go well in the last two World Cups in 2006 and 2010... And that probably counts a lot...
But after Corinthians won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2012, and Brazil won the Confederations Cup in 2013, I expected to see a recovery in the interest for Brazil's football in the second half of 2013, but I don't think that happened...
And when I talk about interest in Brazil's football, I'm talking not just about interest in Brazil's national team, but also interest in Brazilian domestic football...
For example, I guess most people here can correctly answer who are the top scorers in the current editions of England's Premier League and Spain's La Liga...
Same happens with Argentinian futbol, even when it always has been very succesful internationally (ex Boca, River, Estudiantes, Velez)
That's true.
And unfortunately, that's the case even between our nations, that are neighbors.
The Argentinean league is way less known in Brazil than the Spanish or the German league, and I guess the Brazilian league is not that popular in Argentina too...
We only pay attention on each other's clubs when they are playing the Libertadores Cup...
Not to mention that from 2005 to 2012, the FIFA Club World Cup was won 3 times by Brazilian clubs: São Paulo (2005), Internacional (2006) and Corinthians (2012).
Maybe our clubs are not good at marketing strategies?

I always say that Brazilians and Argentinian clubs should be much better known internationally. I know brazilian futbols and clubs cause they are always present in the Libertadores cup, but its true that here the european league is also more popular than brazilian .
Also, some of the best players in the world come from Bra or Arg leagues. Also, the passion towards club futbol that Arg and Bra fans have is unmatched anywhere else in the world
The other countries send their talent searchers to see guys from our clubs, but, thats all there is .
I watched Newells quite a bit this year. They seem to have a great team and play some superb football at times. Did they win he Argentinian Premier League?
River Plate didn't impress me at all the last time I watched them.

In the current edition of Argentina's league (2013-2014), the current leader is San Lorenzo (that happens to be the club that Pope Francis roots for), with 32 points.
Well, the Pope recently said he prays 3 times a day for San Lorenzo to be the champion of Argentina's league:
